Bryce Dallas Howard was born on March 2, 1981 in Los Angeles. She is an American actress and film director.

Bryce Dallas Howard is the daughter of director Ron Howard. Her first name is derived from Bryce Canyon, known for its red rock; her middle name is derived from Dallas, Texas, where she was conceived. She studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and at the Stella Adler Conservatory and gained her first experience as a theater actress on Broadway.

She was best known for M. Night Shyamalan's The Village (2004) and Lady in the Water (2006). In 2007, she played the role of Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3. In 2009, she appeared in the fourth installment of the Terminator film series, Terminator Salvation, as Kate Connor. 2009 Howard took over the role of Victoria in the third part of the Twilight saga Eclipse (2010). She replaced Rachelle Lefèvre, who had previously played Victoria in Twilight and New Moon.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, she starred in 2010's Hereafter alongside Matt Damon. In 2011 she played the role of Hilly Holbrook in the drama The Help. She was used alongside Emma Stone and Viola Davis.

From April 2014, she starred in Jurassic World, the third Jurassic Park sequel, in the lead role of Claire Dearing, which she also portrayed in the 2018 sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. In the fall of 2015, she starred in the drama film Gold with Matthew McConaughey.

Howard is also active as a director. After the short films Orchids (2006) and When You Find Me (2011), she worked on the film Call me crazy! (2013) involved. With Dads (2019) she directed a documentary film. She is also involved in directing the series The Mandalorian.

In 2017 she was inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars annually.

Howard has been married to actor Seth Gabel since June 17, 2006 after a five-year relationship. A son was born in February 2007. In January 2012, Howard gave birth to a daughter.
