Emma Margaret Marie Tachard-Mackey was born on January 4, 1996 in Le Mans. She is a Franco-British actress and model. She is best known for her role as Maeve Wiley on the Netflix original series Sex Education.

Emma Tachard-Mackey was born to a French father and a British mother. She grew up in Sablé-sur-Sarthe and graduated in 2013 with an International Baccalaureate from the Académie de Nantes. Mackey then attended the University of Leeds, where she studied English literature, performed in workshop theater and directed plays for the university's theater company.

She modeled for the 2017 summer collection of the English clothing line AIDA Shoreditch.

Since 2019, Mackey has co-starred in the series Sex Education alongside Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson. Maeve Wiley, her character, is a bright and enterprising "bad girl" misfit who convinces a classmate to start a secret sex therapy business at her school. Sex Education is the first major television series of Mackey's career. She received positive reviews for the role of Maeve Wiley.

She took on the title role of writer Emily Brontë in Frances O'Connor's feature debut Emily (2022).
