Jacqueline Fernandez was born on August 11, 1985. She is a Sri Lankan actress and model. She is the winner of Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006. Fernandez is known for her work in Hindi films. She made her acting debut in the 2009 film Aladin. Besides that, she is also a social activist and promotes brands.

Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Bahrain. Her father is from Sri Lanka and her mother from Canada and Malaysia. Fernandez grew up in both Bahrain and Sri Lanka. Her great-grandparents were originally from Goa, India. She has a sister and two brothers and grew up in Bahrain. Fernandez wanted to be an actress as a child and later a TV reporter and started presenting TV shows in Bahrain at the age of 14.

After studying mass communications in Australia, she moved to Sri Lanka, where she lived with her grandparents and worked at a television station. From then on she began reporting and investigating the political turmoil.

She accepted offers to be a model and was crowned Miss Sri Lanka Universe in 2006. She represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant in Los Angeles, but was unsuccessful.

In 2007, Fernandez made his debut in a commercial music video for Sri Lankan duo Bathiya and Santhush.
