Biography of Kate Upton

Katherine Elizabeth "Kate" Upton was born on June 10, 1992 in St. Joseph, Michigan. She is an American model and actress.

Kate Upton grew up in Florida as the daughter of former tennis player Shelley and physical education teacher Jeff Upton. Her uncle is Republican politician Fred Upton.

Upton auditioned for Elite Model Management agency in Miami in 2008 and was signed the same day. She later switched to the New York model agency IMG Models. Commissions for the fashion labels Garage, Dooney & Bourke and Guess followed, for which she was photographed by Ellen von Unwerth, among others.

Her breakthrough came with her appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. After winning 2011 Swimsuit Issue Rookie of the Year, she became the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl in 2012 and 2013. Upton was the first swimwear model ever photographed on the continent of Antarctica during the 2013 issue photo shoot.

As part of the hacker attack on private photos of celebrities in 2014, nude pictures of her were published on the Internet via the image board 4chan.

On November 4, 2017, she married American baseball player Justin Verlander, with whom she has been in a relationship since 2014. Their daughter was born in November 2018.
