Biography of Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Nicole Simpson-Ross was born on October 3, 1984 in Waco, Texas. She is an American singer and actress. She is the younger sister of singer and actress Jessica Simpson.

Simpson began her career playing Cecilia on the television series 7Th Heaven. After that, she had her own show on MTV, The Ashlee Simpson Show, which took her from signing her first record deal to her first gig. This show increased Simpson's profile and had many viewers.

The first single Pieces of Me catapulted their debut album Autobiography straight to number 1. To date the album has sold almost 3 million copies. In the course of the album release, Simpson traveled across the States, playing her own tour to always sold-out houses. It was on this tour that she became friends with Gwen Stefani. The success was overshadowed by an unsuccessful appearance on the show Saturday Night Live in October 2004, when the wrong playback was played during Simpson's alleged live performance and the embarrassed singer left the stage in front of the audience.

Her second album, I Am Me, was released in autumn 2005. In the USA, the album went straight to number 1 in the album charts, just like its predecessor.

The track is about Ashlee denying she stole her friend's boyfriend. The girlfriend was believed to be actress Lindsay Lohan until Simpson denied the rumor. She did not want to call the person by name. In March 2006, Simpson released his second single, L.O.V.E, in the United States. In the US, she came in at number 22.

On May 2, 2008 Simpson's third album Bittersweet World was released. Their debut single Outta My Head (Ay YaYa) was produced by Timbaland and peaked at number 121 in the US.

From 2008 to 2011, Simpson was married to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and changed her name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. The two became parents to their son Bronx Mowgli on November 20, 2008. On February 9, 2011, it was announced that Simpson and Wentz were getting a divorce.

On August 30, 2014, she married actor Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross. She also adopted a second surname as Ashlee Simpson-Ross, but continues to appear publicly under her former name. Their daughter was born in July 2015. Their son was born in October 2020.
