Biography of Teri Hatcher

Teresa "Teri" Lynn Hatcher was born on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto, California. She is an American actress.

Hatcher made her acting debut in 1985 in the television series Love Boat as the singing and dancing "mermaid" Amy. This performance brought her then further roles. In the series MacGyver she had a recurring role as the naively innocent actress Penny Parker. This was followed by guest roles in other series, e.g. Star Trek: The Next Generation (1988), Quantum Leap (1989), L.A. Law (1989), Tales from the Crypt (1990) and Murphy Brown (1990). She was scheduled to star in Mad About You, but lost the part to Helen Hunt.

She made her big screen debut in 1988 in the Hollywood satire The Big Picture opposite Kevin Bacon. In 1989, Hatcher played Katherine, sister of Sylvester Stallone, in the action film Tango & Cash For television, she directed Norman Lear's series Sunday Dinner (1991) and the film The Perfect Murder (1991), and guest-starred on the sitcoms Seinfeld (1993) and Frasier (1998).

In the television series Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark she played the female lead with Lois Lane from 1993 to 1997. In 1995, Hatcher played a major role in Phil Joanou's thriller Heaven's Prisoneras Alec Baldwin's partner, she played Claudette, the Cajun wife of a crime boss played by Eric Roberts.

In 1997, she played Paris, the wife of antagonist Elliot Carver, in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Hatcher later regretted playing the role of Paris Carver.

In 2001, she took on the lead role of single mother Jane Doe, whose son is kidnapped, in the action thriller Jane Doe. In 2003, she played an FBI agent in Momentum.

From 2004 to 2012 she played one of the main roles in the US television series Desperate Housewives. She won a Golden Globe in January 2005 for her portrayal of the single, clumsy, and relationship-stressed Susan Mayer.

In 2012, she starred as Kate Quimby in the ABC Family television series Jane by Design. She appeared in four episodes and directed one episode. Since 2016 she has played the role of Charlotte in the comedy series Odd Couple.

On June 4, 1988 she married Marcus Leithold, the marriage was divorced in 1989. She was married to actor Jon Tenney from May 27, 1994 to March 5, 2003, with whom she has one daughter (b. 1997).

On April 9, 2008, she sang the song Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood live on the American show Idol Gives Back.
