Biography of Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie Jane Imbruglia was born on February 4, 1975 in Sydney, New South Wales. She is an Australian-British singer-songwriter, actress and model.

Buoyed by her success on that series, Imbruglia began a singing career in 1997. Her first single Torn - a cover version of the song Brændt by her fellow Danish singer Lis Sørensen - reached number two in the UK Singles Chart in November 1997.

Their debut album Left of the Middle sold over a million copies in the UK alone and included two other top ten hits, Big Mistake and Smoke (both 1998). The follow-up album White Lilies Island was released in 2001. Despite radio-friendly single releases such as That Day (2001), Wrong Impression (2002) and Beauty on the Fire (2002) the sales figures fell short of the successful debut.

Imbruglia continued her acting career in 2002, starring alongside Rowan Atkinson in the British espionage satirical Johnny English (2003). She also worked as a model for the French cosmetics manufacturer L'Oréal.

With the single Shiver, released in March 2005, Imbruglia was able to record another top ten success in the British charts. Their third album Counting Down the Days, released in April. In October 2009 she released her fourth studio album Come to Life, which features the single Want.

In 2014, Imbruglia signed to Sony Masterworks, where she released her first studio album in five years. The album, titled Male, contains only cover songs by male artists.

On 18 June 2021, Imbruglia released "Build It Better", the first single from her sixth studio album Firebird, which was released on 24 September 2021.

On New Year's Eve 2003, Imbruglia married fellow countryman Daniel Johns. They announced their divorce in January 2008. She has also had British citizenship since 2013. In 2019, she announced that she had a son through sperm donation.
