Biography of Shriya Saran
Shriya Saran was born September 11, 1982 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand in India. She is an Indian actress who directs films in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English.
One of her first roles was in the Hindi television series Amma and Family, where she played a daughter in a Muslim family. In 2001 she took on her first leading role in the Telugu film Ishtam. This was followed by several Telugu feature films, after which she also began to act in Hindi films and Tamil films. She was particularly successful with the films Tagore, Arjun, Sivaji, which were dubbed into several Indian languages in addition to the original version.
In 2008 she made her first American film, The Other End Of The Line.In January 2008, Shriya Saran was reported in Tamil Nadu by the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) for wearing indecent clothing. The occasion was her appearance at the Silver Jubilee celebrations for her film Sivaji: The Boss, where she wore a cropped dress that HMK felt was an insult to Hindu culture. Similar allegations were made by HMK against fellow actresses Kushboo Sundar and Mallika Sherawat. Shriya Saran later issued an apology to Tamils and Hindus, calling her dress worn to the celebration a mistake and stressing that she has great respect for the traditions and culture of Tamil Nadu.
On March 12, 2018, Saran married her Russian boyfriend Andrei Koscheev in a private ceremony in Mumbai.
