Biography of Maggie Q

Maggie Q (Margaret Denise Quigley) was born on May 22, 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is an American actress, model and animal rights activist.

The daughter of a half Polish, half Irish father and a Vietnamese mother, she began her career as a model in Japan and China.

Maggie Q had her first acting role in a Chinese TV series in 1997. She then acted in several Asian films and had minor appearances in Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Around the World in 80 Days (2004). In 2006, she starred in Mission: Impossible III alongside Tom Cruise, Michelle Monaghan and Simon Pegg, and in 2007 she starred in Die Hard 4.0 alongside Bruce Willis, Timothy Olyphant and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

In 2008, she played the role of Chase Linh in Need for Speed: Undercover. From 2010 to 2013 she played the title role Nikita in the television series of the same name and from 2014 to 2015 she played the lead role of Beth Davis, formerly Michelle Webber, in the television series Stalker. She also plays the role of Tori Wu in the films Divergent(2014), Insurgent (2015) and Allegiant (2016).

Early in her career, Maggie Q was coached and mentored by Jackie Chan. Since she attaches great importance to the authenticity of her numerous action and fight scenes, she largely refrains from being doubled by stunt women.

For the animal rights organization PETA she was photographed naked or dressed only in plants to promote vegetarianism and the fight against climate change through a change in diet.
