Biography of Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey (Elizabeth Woolridge Grant) was born on June 21, 1985 in New York. She is an American pop singer and songwriter.

Lana Del Rey was born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant in New York and grew up in Lake Placid, New York State. In the late 1990s, she was a fashion model for Abercrombie & Fitch, appearing on tote bags with the fashion label along with Lindsay Lohan. From the age of 18 she worked as a social worker in New York City homeless shelters and in rehabilitation centers for alcoholics and other drug addicts. In 2008 she received her Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. She lived in a strictly religious environment until she was 23.

At the age of 17 she began her musical career. She initially performed under several pseudonyms with guitar or small ensemble in smaller clubs in Brooklyn and the Lower East Side. Between 2005 and 2006 she recorded the album Sirens under the pseudonym May Jailer, which was released in May 2012. In 2010, under the name Lizzy Grant, she released the album Lana Del Ray a.k.a Lizzy Grant.

Before her breakthrough, she toured with Mando Diao. She was involved in the recording of the MTV unplugged album Above and Beyond, which was released in November 2010.

The following year she published her title Video Games. On YouTube, it reached over a million views within a month. The video has since been viewed more than 295 million times (as of July 12, 2022).

The album Born to Die was released on January 27, 2012.

The album was re-released on November 16, 2012 under the name Born to Die - The Paradise Edition, which includes eight new songs. The album Born to Die sold more than five million copies worldwide and was the fifth best selling album of 2012.

She started working on a new studio album in February 2013. According to his own statement, this should be "somewhat reduced", but still "cinematic and gloomy".

On December 5, 2013, Lana Del Rey released the short film Tropico. At the premiere, she confirmed the title of the new album, which is called Ultraviolence. The first single West Coast was released on April 14, 2014, the second single Shades of Cool was released on May 26, 2014.

On February 18, 2017, the single previously unofficially announced as Love was released first by fans and then by Lana Del Rey.

In 2018 Lana Del Rey stated that this new album will be called Norman Fucking Rockwell. On September 13, 2019, Del Rey released the single Don't Call Me Angel along with Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande. This is the official soundtrack for Charlie's Angels.

On March 19, 2021, Del Rey's seventh studio album Chemtrails over the Country Club was finally released after some postponements.

On May 20, 2021, Del Rey pre-released the three songs Blue Banisters, Text Book and Wildflower Wildfire from her forthcoming album Blue Banisters.

Arcadia, the fourth single from the Blue Banisters album, followed on September 8, 2021. The album finally came out a month later.

In early 2022, it was announced that Del Rey had recorded a track for the youth television series Euphoria. The song is titled Watercolor Eyes and was released as a single track single on January 21, 2022.

In early October, Taylor Swift announced that Del Rey would be guest starring on her album Midnights, titled Snow on the Beach, out October 21, 2022.

From August 2011 to June 2014 she was in a relationship with Scottish singer Barrie-James O'Neill from the band Kassidy. Until November 2015 she was in a relationship with Italian photographer Francesco Carrozzini. In September 2019, she began a relationship with police officer and reality TV star Sean "Sticks" Larkin. Their split was announced in March 2020 during an interview by Larkin himself. A few months later, Del Rey dated musician and singer Clayton Johnson, whom she split in the summer of 2021.
