Biography of Bethany Joy Lenz

Bethany Joy Lenz (Galeotti) was born on April 2, 1981 in Hollywood, Florida. She is an American actress, television director, singer-songwriter, record producer and writer.

As a child, Lenz moved to Arlington, Texas, where she had her first role in The Wizard of Oz at the age of seven. At the age of ten she acted at the Irving Community Theater. At the age of eleven she moved to New Jersey with her family.

She played the first leading role in the film Thinner. After that she made guest appearances in series like Felicity or Charmed. From 2003 to 2012, Lenz starred as Haley James-Scott in the television series One Tree Hill, in which she starred opposite James Lafferty, who portrayed the role of Nathan R. Scott.

As of December 31, 2005, Lenz was married to musician Michael Galeotti, whose family name she took, and with whom she lived in North Carolina for nine months of the year. Lenz and her ex-husband announced on their blog that their daughter was born on February 23, 2011. She announced the separation of the two in March 2012 on her blog. She also stated that she would return under her old name, Lenz.
