Marcia Anne Cross was born on March 25, 1962 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She is an American actress.
Marcia Cross, who received her master's degree in psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles, is best known as an actress in US television series. She has starred in numerous series such as Edge of Night, Cheers, Everwood, King of Queens, CSI: Criminal Investigation.
One of her most famous roles was that of Dr. Kimberly Shaw in the series Melrose Place, which she embodied from 1992 to 1997. From 2004 to 2012 she played Bree Van de Kamp in the hit series Desperate Housewives. For this role, Marcia Cross was nominated for the first time in her career in 2004 for various television awards, including Emmy, Golden Satellite Award, TV Guide Award, three Golden Globes and five Screen Actors Guild Awards. She won the Screen Actors Guild Award twice with the ensemble. She received the Golden Satellite Award for her portrayal of Bree Van de Kamp in the second season of the series.
Since playing the role of Bree, a perfect housewife, in Desperate Housewives, she has portrayed a similar character in a commercial for the Spar retail chain on Austrian television.
Cross was in a long-term relationship with Richard Jordan, 25 years his senior. Their relationship ended with his death. In November 2005, Cross became engaged to stockbroker Tom Mahoney and married him on June 24, 2006. On February 20, 2007, Cross gave birth to twins in Los Angeles.
