Biography of Katharine McPhee

Katharine Hope McPhee-Foster was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 25, 1984. She is an American singer, dancer and actress.

When she was 12 years old, she moved with her parents and her sister to Sherman Oaks, California. Her great aptitude and ability come from her family, specifically her mother, Patricia Burch McPhee, a cabaret singer. It was she who decided to educate her since she discovered her gift, at the age of two. Her father, Daniel McPhee, is a television producer, and her older sister, Adriana Burch McPhee (born June 30, 1982), aspires to be a producer. McPhee has Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry.

In 2002, she graduated from Notre Dame High School. After being rejected at various castings and auditions, she auditioned for American Idol in San Francisco. She managed to reach the final of the contest, achieving a very good participation, but lost to Taylor Hicks.

In 2008 she released her first single, "Over It".

That same year she made her debut as an actress in the movie The House Bunny, acting alongside Anna Faris.

During the years 2012 and 2013 she co-starred in the NBC musical drama Smash, in the role of Karen Cartwright.

She worked on the CBS series Scorpion (TV series) as Page Dineen. She also starred in the Broadway musical "Waitress" playing the role of Jenna.

After dating Nick Cokas for three years, McPhee married him on February 2, 2008.

On May 22, 2014, McPhee filed for divorce from Cokas, after "having been separated for the last year." Her divorce was finalized on February 8, 2016.

McPhee dated Scorpion co-star Elyes Gabel from 2014 to 2016.

In June 2018, McPhee became engaged to David Foster. On June 28, 2019, Foster and McPhee were married in a London church. On October 8, 2020, it was made public that Foster and McPhee were expecting their first child together and Foster's sixth. At the end of February 2021, the birth of their son, a boy, was announced.
