Biography of Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha was born on June 2, 1987 in Patna, Bihar. She is an Indian actress of Hindi film.

She is the youngest daughter of acting couple Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. Of her two older twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha, the former is also an actor. She is a cousin of siblings Pooja Ruparel and Bhavna Ruparel.

After graduating from Arya Vidya Mandir High School in Mumbai, she completed a three-year degree in fashion design at SNDT Women's University. She then worked as a designer and designed, for example, costumes for the film Mera Dil Leke Dekho (2005).

As a model, she appeared at Lakme Fashion Week in 2008 and 2009. There she was approached by Arbaaz Khan (brother of Salman Khan) who offered her the lead role as Rajjo in Dabangg. Starring alongside superstar Salman Khan, the 2010 film grossed Rs. 2.15 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the time. She also appeared in 2012's Indian box office hits Rowdy Rathore alongside Akshay Kumar, Son of Sardaar alongside Ajay Devgan and Dabangg 2.

In 2013, Sonakshi Sinha appeared in the drama Lootera opposite Ranveer Singh and in the action romance R... Rajkumar alongside Shahid Kapoor.
