Biography of Ana de Armas

Ana de Armas was born on April 30, 1988 in Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba.

She is the daughter of Ramón de Armas and Ana Caso, her grandparents were from Palencia and León (Spain).

She grew up in Havana with her brother.

At the age of fourteen she entered the National School of Art in Cuba.

Her first leading role was in 2005 in the Spanish film Una rosa de Francia, shot in Cuba and co-starring Álex González.

At the age of eighteen she obtained a Spanish passport and moved to Spain.

She participated in El internado throughout the series (2007-2010), except for the last season, playing Carolina Leal. She worked in Mentiras y gordas, one of the highest grossing films of 2010.

She appears on the covers of men's magazine FHM in April 2008; in April 2009 at the Must! Magazine, and in August, in Vanidad, among others.

Since July 2010, she participated in the filming of Hispania, la leyenda, an Antena 3 series in which she played the role of the slave, Nerea.

In 2013, she shot in Madrid the film For a handful of kisses, released on May 16, 2014. In this year, she moved to Hollywood.

She shared a bed in a one-bedroom apartment with a friend in Los Angeles and auditioned while studying English. She got Josh Lieberman, the same as Robert de Niro, as a representative, and the stylist, Micaela Erlanger, who also attends Meryl Streep.

She began work on the horror film Knock Knock, in which she played the title role of Bel opposite Keanu Reeves, and the follow-up, Hands of Stone opposite Robert De Niro; Exposed, again with Keanu Reeves; War Dogs with Jonah Hill, and Overdrive with Scott Eastwood.

In 2017, she had the role of Joi in Blade Runner 2049, acting with Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto. For her performance, she received a Saturn Award nomination in the category of best supporting actress.

In 2019 she works at The Informer; The Night Clerk; Sergio; Waiting for Helen and Knives Out. In this year it was confirmed that she would participate in No Time to Die, a film from the James Bond saga.

On November 27, 2019, he premiered Knives Out, a police film in which he worked with Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Katherine Langford, Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Plummer among others.

For its 2020 release, she shot the Wasp Network movies, working alongside Penélope Cruz, and JSA.

She was also cast as Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix film Blonde.

She was married to Spanish actor Marc Clotet from 2011 to 2013. She was related to Edgar Ramírez, a co-star in Manos de piedra, and since 2017, to Alejandro Piñeiro Bello, a Cuban artist.

She has been related to Ben Affleck since the filming of Deep Water in May 2019. De Armas and Affleck ended their relationship in January 2021.
