Biography of Kesha

Kesha was born on March 1, 1987 in Los Angeles, California.

Daughter of Pebe Sebert, singer in a punk-rock band and single mother, who raised her and her brother Logan thanks to the help of welfare programs and food stamps. She never knew her father.

In 1991 they moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where Kesha became interested in music. She did not do well at school in Brentwood and she drops out at seventeen.

She traveled to Los Angeles to start her musical career. As a teenager, she even sneaked into Prince's house to leave him a demo of her because she wanted him to produce her music. In 2005, she signed with Dr. Luke's record label.

In 2006, she signed with David Sonenberg's company, DAS Communications Inc.

She co-wrote The Veronicas single This Love with Toby Gad. Her songs appear on TV shows while she supports herself with various jobs. She performs backing vocals on the Britney Spears song Lace and Leather and appears in Katy Perry's video for her 2008 single I Kissed a Girl.

She became popular in early 2009 after being featured on Flo Rida's #1 single Right Round and her song Touch Me.

Signed by RCA Records, she signed a contract until 2009. Her single, TiK ToK was number 1 on Billboard for nine weeks and also in eleven countries, being one of the best-selling digital singles, with more than fourteen million downloads.

In January 2010 she released her first album titled Animal in her line of pop dance and electropop which entered number one in the United States. Animal's second single, Blah Blah Blah, debuted at #7 on Billboard, with sales of over two million copies worldwide.

Ella after her released We R Who We R, the first single from her first EP Cannibal; which appears in the United States on November 22, 2010. I Am the Dance Commander + I Command You to Dance: The Remix Album is her first remix album and was released on March 18, 2011.

On December 4, 2012, her second studio album titled Warrior appears, with the singles Die Young, C'Mon, and Supernatural.

To promote Rainbow, her third album, Kesha embarked on the Rainbow Tour (2017–2019), which began on September 26, 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The High Road album release date has been confirmed for January 31, 2020.

A vegetarian, she wears faux fur and is one of Human Society International's ambassadors.

In March 2014, she finished rehab for eating disorders caused by her producer Dr. Luke de Ella, and announced that her stage name from then on would be "Kesha", and not "Ke$ha".

She lost a lawsuit against her record label and producer. The judge did not believe that she was raped by the man behind her songs, Dr. Luke, or even psychologically harassed, and ruled that she must fulfill her contract for six more albums with her current company.
