Shannon Ashley "Shay" Mitchell was born on April 10, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario. She is a Canadian actress and model.
Mitchell was born in Toronto in 1987 to an Irish-Scottish father and a Filipino mother. She has worked as a model in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Barcelona. She then returned to Toronto to study acting. She received roles in the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation, Aaron Stone and Rookie Blue and was booked for commercials.
From 2010 to 2017 she played the role of Emily Fields in the US television series Pretty Little Liars. Since 2011 she has appeared as a model for Pantene hair shampoo. In 2018 she played the role of Peach Salinger in the television series You.
In October 2019 she gave birth to a daughter.
