Katherine McNamara was born on November 22, 1995 in Kansas City, Missouri. She is an American actress and singer.
In 2014, McNamara had her first series starring role in the MTV dramedy Happyland. In the short-lived television series, she played the role of Harper Munroe alongside Shane Harper and Ryan Rottman. In the fall of 2015, she starred as Sonya in the sci-fi film Maze Runner. She previously played a supporting role in the third season of The Fosters.
McNamara starred as Clary Fray in the Freeform television series Shadowhunters, based on the Mortal Instruments novel series by Cassandra Clare, from January 2016 until the series ended in May 2019. In 2018, she won the People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress for this role.
