Emily Irene VanCamp was born on May 12, 1986 in Scugog, Ontario. She is a Canadian actress.

Emily VanCamp was born in Port Perry, a borough of Scugog, Canada, and grew up with three siblings. In addition to her native French, she is fluent in English and Spanish. At the age of twelve she attended the dance school L'Ecole Superieure de Danse de Quebec in Montréal, after which she joined the ballet company Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. After visiting her sister Katie while filming Ladies Room in 1999, she also wanted to be an actress.

At first she played small roles in television series and films such as No Good Deed with Samuel L. Jackson and Milla Jovovich. In 2002, Emily VanCamp had a supporting role in the mystery series Glory Days. The producer Greg Berlanti, who is responsible for the youth series Dawson's Creek, among other things, became aware of the young actress and used her in his new series Everwood. VanCamp played high school student Amy Abbott alongside Treat Williams and Gregory Smith from 2002 until the end of the series in 2006.

Other roles in films such as Carriers and Black Irish followed, as well as a cameo in the horror film The Ring 2. Her discoverer Greg Berlanti also gave the actress a role in his next series. From 2006 to 2011 she starred alongside Sally Field and Dave Annable in the drama series Brothers & Sisters. That same year, VanCamp directed the two-part television series Ben Hur, in which she played the title character's fiancee. She also starred in the comedy Norman and filmed the film Beyond the Blackboard in New Mexico. From 2011 to 2015 she played the female lead of Emily Thorne on the television series Revenge.

In 2014 she impersonated the role of Sharon Carter alias Agent 13 in The Return of the First Avenger. She also played this role in 2016 in Captain America: Civil War and in the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

For her performance on Everwood, VanCamp was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Best Television Actress in a Drama Series in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and once for a Young Artist Award. In October 2010, she won Best Actress at the San Diego Film Festival for her role in Norman.

VanCamp currently resides in Los Angeles. She has been in a relationship with her series partner inRevenge, Josh Bowman, since 2011 and has been engaged to him since May 2017. The couplemarriedon December 15, 2018.
