Biography of Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue was born on May 28, 1968 in Melbourne, Australia.

Her aboriginal name means boomerang.

She is the daughter of Ronald Charles Minogue, an accountant of Irish descent, and Carol Jones, a Welsh woman who was a dancer in her youth. Her brother, Brendan, is a television cameraman and Danielle, an actress and singer.

She got her start in show business in 1979 when she worked on the series Skyways and The Henderson Kids. Thanks to a recorded theme for the program, she gained popularity. In 1987, she received five Logies Awards, the most important in Australian television.

The Loco-Motion theme of the American group Grand Funk Railroad, she recorded it in July 1987 giving it a more danceable character. Her first album was simply titled Kylie and she later released a single called I Should Be So Lucky, which was followed by Impossible Princess.

During 2000 she recorded Spinning Around and a year later Fever, reaching the highest positions in the most important charts with Ca n't Get You Out Of My Head.

In May 2005, breast cancer forced the singer to postpone her Showgirl international tour and her plans to become mother, she declared, her then sentimental partner, the French actor Oliver Martínez, to New Idea magazine.

After surgery and chemotherapy treatment, she reappears in 2006 with Showgirl: Homecoming Tour.

Her tenth album, X, is released in 2008, her first album in four years, and she goes on the KylieX2008 international tour.

In 2010 Aphrodite appears from which the single All The Lovers is extracted.

In March 2014, she released her 12th studio album Kiss Me Once which reached number one in Australia and number two in the UK. The singles Into the Blue and I Was Gonna Cancel were the highlights of the album.

In February 2017, she signed with BMG Rights Management and recorded her next album in London, Los Angeles and Nashville, which was titled Golden which was released on April 6, 2018 with Dancing as her lead single.

Among other awards, she received a Grammy, three Brits and 17 ARIA Music.

Despite not having a university degree, she received an honorary doctorate in health sciences in October 2011 for her contribution to women's awareness of the risk of breast cancer. The award was given by Anglia Ruskin University in London.

Minogue dated Neighborsco-star Jason Donovan, she later dated INXS singer Michael Hutchence between 1989 and 1991.

She was a partner of the French actor, Olivier Martínez, after meeting at the Grammy Awards ceremony in 2002. They ended their relationship in February 2007 and began another with the model Andrés Velencoso that lasted from 2008 to 2013.

In November 2015, she confirmed that she was dating British agent Joshua Sasse. In February 2017, Minogue confirmed that the couple had ended their relationship.

She has been related to Paul Solomons, creative director of British GQ, since 2018.
