Biography of Emma Watson

Emma Watson was born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France.

She is the daughter of English lawyers Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. She resided in Paris until the age of five.

Her parents separated from her and she moved to England to live with her mother in Oxfordshire, while she spent weekends at her father's house in London. She has three stepbrothers and two stepsisters.

She attended the Dragon School in Oxford, where she stayed until 2003. From the age of six she wanted to be an actress, and she trained at Oxford's Stagecoach Theater Arts, a part-time drama school where she studied singing, dancing and performance.

She graduated with a BA in English Literature in 2014; she is also a certified yoga and meditation instructor.

At the age of nine, she was cast as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, having previously performed in school plays.

She starred, alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, in the film series. For her work on Harry Potter, she was awarded several prizes.

She later appeared in the telefilm Ballet Shoes broadcast on BBC One on December 26, 2007.

In 2008, she voiced Princess Pea in an animated film titled The Tale of Despereaux, based on the book of the same name by Kate DiCamillo.

In 2011, she participated in My Week with Marilyn, and in 2012, she starred alongside Logan Lerman in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen Chbosky. She played Illa in the movie Noah.

In 2013, she presented The Bling Ring, a film directed by Sofia Coppola.

In 2015, she premiered as the protagonist the film by Spanish director Alejandro Amenábar entitled Regression, a thriller released in September in which she worked alongside Ethan Hawke and his colleague in Harry Potter David Thewlis.

Watson played Belle in Disney's adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, which was the second highest-grossing film of 2017. In that same year, she starred opposite Tom Hanks in The Circle.

In 2019, Watson played the role of Meg March in the adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel Little Women.

Since 2011 she has been the face of Lancôme, having done four campaigns for the brand. She collaborated as a stylist together with the People Tree and with the Italian Alberta Ferretti, in the launch of ecological clothing collections.

In July 2014, she was appointed a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

She began dating her fellow Oxford student Will Adamowicz in 2011. They broke up in early 2014. In that year she was linked to rugby player Matt Janney, although they broke up a few months later.

In 2019, she started a relationship with the American businessman Leo Robinton.
