Biography of Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Joanne Emmanuel was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, on March 2, 1989. She is a British actress, best known for her role as Missandei in Game of Thrones and that of Megan Ramsey in the Fast and Furious saga.

Nathalie Emmanuel is born to a mother from the island of the Dominican Republic and a father who is half Saint Lucian and half English.

She has a sister, Louise, who was in the final of Starfall in 2002. She attended St. Hilda's School, Westcliff, from the ages of 3 to 11. She later transferred schools, attending Westcliff High School for Girls from the age of 12.

In 2007 Nathalie Emmanuel presented the "Best R&B Act" award at the MOBO Awards alongside Martin Offiah. She also presented an award in 2008 at the Urban Music Awards. Her first major television appearance came as a summer star in Vodafone commercials while working in a bank. She also played Nala in the West End production of The Lion King, opposite Pippa Bennett-Warner and Dominique Moore. She later appeared in the first episode of the third season of the series Misfits in the role of Charlie.

In January 2012 Emmanuel presented on BBC Three a program called Websex: What's the Harm?, which investigated the online sexual habits of people aged 16 to 24 in the UK.

In 2013, she joined the recurring cast of the third season of the series Game of Thrones, produced by HBO, where she played Missandei, the translator of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). In 2015 she was promoted to the main cast during the fifth season. The series ended in its eighth season in 2019.

In 2013 and 2014 Emmanuel participated in the filming of Furious 7, a film that premiered on April 2, 2015. On November 1, 2014 the first trailer for the film was released where she appears playing the role of Megan Ramsey, a hacker.

In 2017, she was present in the movie The Fate of the Furious, playing Megan Ramsey again.
