Biography of Yvonne Strahovski

Yvonne Jacqueline Strzechowski was born on July 30, 1982 in Werrington Downs, Sydney. She is an Australian actress and voice actress.

Yvonne Strahovski's parents emigrated from Poland to Australia shortly before she was born.

Strahovski was interested in theater from an early age and received her first acting lessons at the age of twelve. After earning her bachelor's degree in performing arts from the University of Western Sydney's prestigious Theater Nepean in 2003, she acted in plays for some time.

It was followed by guest and supporting roles in some Australian television series and the British feature film Gone. While she was in the US for several auditions, she was accepted for the television series Chuck, for which she had sent the application video from Australia. She then moved to the States. Chuck's producer, Josh Schwartz, recommended that Strahovski change her birth name Strzechowski for easier pronunciation for her career. In 2010, she received a Teen Choice Award for her role as Sarah Walker in Chuck.

In 2009, she starred opposite Will Patton in the film The Canyon for the first time in a Hollywood theatrical production. In 2010 and 2012, she lent the voice and appearance to the character Miranda Lawson in the game Mass Effect 2 and its sequel Mass Effect 3.

In 2011, she starred in the film Killer Elite alongside Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro. In 2012 she starred in the comedy The Guilt Trip. She made her Broadway debut in 2012 in the play The Golden Boy opposite Tony Shalhoub. From 2012 to 2013 she took on the role of Hannah McKay in the television series Dexter. She received a Saturn Award for this performance.

In 2014, she played one of the main roles as CIA agent Kate Morgan in the miniseries 24: Live Another Day, the sequel to the hit series 24. In 2014 she played the female lead in I, Frankenstein. That same year, she starred for one season in the role of Rene Carpenter on the ABC television series The Astronaut Wives Club.

Since 2017 she can be seen in the series The Handmaid's Taleas Serena Joy. She starred in the 2019 remake of Australian psychological thriller Angel of Mine alongside Noomi Rapace and Luke Evans. In 2020, she starred in the Cate Blanchett-produced television miniseries Stateless. In 2021 the science fiction film The Tomorrow War was released on Prime Video. There she plays alongside Chris Pratt.

In 2017, Strahovski married her longtime partner Tim Loden. She has been the mother of a son since 2018. On June 30, 2021, she announced at the film premiere ofThe Tomorrow War that she is expecting another child. She has been the mother of two sons since December 2021.
