Biography of Joss Stone

Joss Stone was born on April 11, 1987 in Dover, England. She is a British singer and actress. Along with Amy Winehouse and Duffy, she is one of the most popular soul-pop singers of the 21st century and together with them helped to make classic soul and jazz popular again in popular music.

At age 16, after adopting the stage name Joss Stone, Stone flew to New York with her mother for an audition. Greenberg collaborated with soul singer Betty Wright on Stone's voice. In four days they recorded some cover songs together with well-known soul musicians like guitarist Little Beaver>, Angie Stone and Questlove from The Roots.

A cover version of White Stripes' Fell in Love with a Boy was released as the first single. This was followed by the single Super Duper Love (Are You Diggin' on Me?) (Part 1). The Soul Sessions has sold over two million copies worldwide.

The success of The Soul Sessions was followed by Stone's first album, Mind, Body & Soul, in 2004.

March 2007 saw the release of Introducing...Joss Stone, Stone's third album, produced by Raphael Saadiq.

Stone's fourth studio album Colour me Free was released on October 20, 2009.

Stone's studio album LP1 was released on July 26, 2011. Produced in Nashville with Eurythmics co-founder David A.

The album Water for your Soul was released on July 31, 2015 and is characterized by reggae elements.

In 2017, Stone founded Project Mama Earth with four other musicians, which recorded the EP Mama Earth.

On January 17, 2019, after a long musical break, Joss Stone released the single My Love Goes On in collaboration with British singer James Morrison.

On November 11, 2021, she released Never Forget My Love, for which a video was also filmed. It is the lead single and title track from their album, released February 11, 2022.

In 2006, Stone made her big screen debut as the fortune teller Angela in the fantasy film adaptation of Eragon. In the 13th episode of the third season of American Dreams, Stone ends up having a small role as a singer in a club. She sings a country version of her hit Right to Be Wrong. In the third and fourth seasons of The Tudors, Stone plays Anna of Cleves, fourth wife of Henry VIII.

In October 2018, Stone guest starred in the fifth season of the musical television series Empire, Wynter is a London record label artist.

On February 13, 2021, Stone won the Season 2 finale of the UK version of The Masked Singer as Sausage. In the Season 3 finale, she served as a guest member of the guessing team.

Stone is a vegetarian and supports the animal rights organization PETA.

In September 2020, Stone announced via Instagram that she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Cody DaLuz. She gave birth to a daughter on January 29, 2021.
