Biography of Jessica Alba

Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. She is an American actress and entrepreneur.

Alba's parents are Mexican-American Marc Alba and Montreal-born Canadian Catherine Jensen, who has Danish and French-Canadian ancestry. The two married when they were young. Alba holds US, Canadian and Mexican citizenship.

Alba has a younger brother named Joshua, who is also an actor and co-starred with her on Dark Angel. Her father was in the United States Air Force; which is why she moved several times during her childhood.Alba was suffering from severe asthma at the time and had a lot of pneumonia as a child.

As a child, Alba starred in two commercials for Nintendo and the US department store chain J.C. Penney. After that, she appeared in a few independent films.

Alba had her first film role in the film Camp Nowhere in 1994. That same year, she appeared in three episodes of the Nickelodeon series The Secret World of Alex Mack on TV. After this time she appeared as Maya in the series Flipper.

Alba made her breakthrough with the series Dark Angel, produced by James Cameron, in the role of Max Guevara, a genetically modified soldier who fights for good in a post-apocalyptic America.

Alba landed her first big screen success in 2003 with Honey. Fantastic Four followed in 2005 and Sin City. She starred in Into the Blue with Paul Walker that same year. In 2011 she received the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress for the films The Killer Inside Me, My Wife, Our Children and I, Machete and Valentine's Day.

In 2013, she took on a role in the comedy A.C.O.D. and spoke for the animated film Nix wie weg – one of the characters from Escape From Planet Earth. She reprized her role as Sartana from the previous film in the sequel Machete Kills.

In March 2006, a photo of her wearing a bikini appeared on the cover of Playboy. The photo was originally created for the film Into The Blue. After a personal apology from Hugh Hefner, she withdrew the lawsuit.

In 2007 she was voted "Sexiest Woman in the World" by FHM magazine.

In 2015, she starred in the video for Taylor Swift's Bad Blood.

While filming Dark Angel, Alba began a three-year relationship with fellow actor Michael Weatherly, which caused controversy over their 12-year age difference. In August 2003 both announced their separation.

Alba met producer Cash Warren while filming Fantastic Four in 2004. They became engaged on December 27, 2007 and married on May 19, 2008. On June 7, 2008, Alba gave birth to her first child, a girl, in Los Angeles. In July 2008, the magazine OK! the first baby photos, for which it paid $1.5 million. Their second daughter was born on August 13, 2011. On December 31, 2017 their third child, a boy, was born.
