Biography of Renée Zellweger
Renée Zellweger was born on April 25, 1969, in Katy, Texas.
She is the daughter of Emil Erich Zellweger, an engineer who worked in the oil business from a small town in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Her mother, Kjellfrid Irene Andreassen, a nurse from Norway, moved to the United States to work as a governess for a Norwegian family in Texas.
In 1993 she made her film debut in the film My Boyfriend's Back!, directed by Bob Balaban. She also acted alongside Matthew McConaughey in TheTexas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation.
Renée Zellweger appeared in Ben Stiller's first film as director Reality Bites, where she co-starred with Winona Rydery Ethan Hawke.
She began to be known after her appearance in 1994 in Love & a 45. With this work she got very positive reviews. At that point she decided it was time to move to Los Angeles. In 1996 she got her claim to fame after working alongside Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr in Jerry Maguire.
She subsequently works on One True Thing alongside Meryl Streep, and on Me, Myself and Irene with Jim Carrey.

In 2016, she returned to play Bridget Jones in the third film in the series, Bridget Jones's Baby. In Same Kind of Different as Me (2017), a film adaptation of the autobiographical book of the same name.
On February 9, 2020, Renée Zellweger won her first Oscar as a leading lady at age 50 — she won another as a secondary for Cold Mountain — playing a Judy Garland in the twilight of her career in the biopic Judy, a film directed by Rupert Goold.
She is romantically linked to actor Jim Carrey, whom she was about to marry, with actor George Clooney, with director Josh Pate, and with musician Jack White.
On May 9, 2005, she married musician Kenny Chesney in a ceremony on the island of St. John, but the marriage only lasted five months.
She later dated actor Bradley Cooper and, from 2012 to 2019, she was linked to musician Doyle Bramhall II.
