Biography of Jodie Comer
Jodie Comer was born on March 11, 1993 in Liverpool, UK.
She is the daughter of Donna and James Comer, a masseuse and worker for the Everton football club. She is Charlie's sister.
She attended secondary school at St Julie's Catholic High School in Woolton, where she caught the eye of her drama teacher, who sent her to audition for a BBC Radio 4 play, landing her first acting job.
She worked as a cashier at a Tesco supermarket.
In 2008, she was offered a guest role on the series The Royal Today. She later appeared in the series Waterloo Road,Doctors, Silent Witness, Casualty, Law & Order: UK, Vera and Inspector George Gently. She also recorded the series Justice and the miniseries Remember Me.
During 2015, she participated in the BBC One film, Lady Chatterley's Lover, an adaptation of the work by D. H. Lawrence, played the role of Kate Parks in the series Doctor Foster and starred in the miniseries Thirteen, a performance for which she received a nomination for the British Academy Television Best Actress Award.
She worked on the miniseries Rillington Place (2016). A year later, she played Elizabeth of York in The White Princess.
Since April 2018, she has starred in the BBC series Killing Eve as the psychopathic Russian killer Villanelle, a performance for which she was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and three British Academy Television Awards for best actress, winning both in 2019. The series was renewed for a fourth season in 2020.
She participated in the monologue series Snatches: Moments From Women's Lives (2019). She became the face of Loewe's spring/summer 2020 fashion campaign.
In June 2020, she played the role of Lesley in the Talking Heads.
She made her film debut in 2017 in the film England is Mine, based on the life of singer Morrissey. She made a cameo appearance in the 2019 film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
She was part of the cast of the comedy Free Guy (2019) alongside actor Ryan Reynolds and The Last Duel (2020) directed by Ridley Scott, with whom she also shot Kitbag (2021), playing Joséphine de Beauharnais, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
