Naomi Campbell was born on May 22, 1970 in Streatham, south London.
She is the daughter of Jamaican-born dancer Valerie Morris.
According to the wishes of her mother, she never knew her father, who abandoned her mother when she was four months pregnant. Valerie, she had to raise her alone when she was barely 18 years old. Her stepbrother, Pierre, was born in 1985.
Campbell has Afro-Jamaican and Chinese-Jamaican ancestry through her paternal grandmother. Naomi stated that, despite not having a father, her childhood was happy and she always knew that she wanted to be an artist.
In 1991, Campbell was selected by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
Established in the world of catwalks and fashion magazine covers, she has been the first black model to appear on the covers of TIME Magazine, and VOGUE.
She debuted in 1995 as a singer with Babywoman. His song La, la, la love song -with Japanese singer Toshi- reached No. 1 in Japan and sold more than a million copies, participated in the single Cool as Ice by Vanilla Ice and previously appeared in the music video Freedom ' 90, by George Michael along with other models.
She reappeared in other videos for artists such as Jay-Z and in In The Closet, shot alongside Michael Jackson by Herb Ritts. On screen she appeared in Spike Lee's Girl 6, acting opposite Madonna and Theresa Randle, and alongside Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan.

She was the co-author of the best-selling book Swan, published by Heinemann/Mandarin, which was accompanied by a photo album titled Naomi. The book is a personal selection of photographs by photographers Herb Ritts, Steven Meisel, Richard Avedon, Ellen Von Unwerth, and Peter Lindbergh.
She co-owns the Fashion Cafe, along with Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, and Elle MacPherson.
In 1999, she entered rehab after five years of cocaine and alcohol addiction.
In 2000, she pleaded guilty in a Toronto court to assaulting Georgina Galanis, her assistant, with a phone in a hotel room in 1998. She paid an undisclosed sum and agreed to attend anger management classes.
In March 2005, she allegedly slapped her assistant Amanda Brack and hit her over the head with a BlackBerry.
On March 30, 2006 in New York, she was arrested for allegedly assaulting her housekeeper with a jewel-encrusted mobile phone, requiring several stitches to her head.
On January 16, 2007, she pleaded guilty to one count of reckless assault against her housekeeper Ana Scolavino. She was sentenced to five days of community service and ordered to attend two days of an anger management course.
On April 3, 2008, Campbell was arrested inside Heathrow Terminal 5 on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after one of her bags went missing.
In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Campbell started her own YouTube web series, No Filter with Naomi, in which she chats with guests.
She was related to boxer Mike Tyson in the late 1980s, and actor Robert De Niro in the early 1990s.
In 1993, she became engaged to Adam Clayton, the bassist for U2. They separated the following year. Next, she went out with the Spanish dancer Joaquín Cortés and in 1998, she got engaged to the businessman Flavio Briatore, with whom she was a couple until 2003. Later she went out with Badr Jafar and, in 2008, she got involved with the Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin, with whom she split in 2013.
She was related to Louis C. Camilleri from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, she dated Liam Payne and Skepta.
Naomi Campbell announced in May 2021 that she has become a mother at the age of 50. The British supermodel presents her first daughter, whose name or when and where she was born is unknown.
