Biography of Christina Milian

Christina Milian was born on September 26, 1981 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is an American singer, actress, songwriter and entrepreneur of Cuban descent.

Christina Milian was born the eldest daughter of Cuban parents. She has two siblings, Danielle and Elizabeth. After her birth, the family moved to Waldorf, Maryland. She showed interest in show business when she was just four years old, and five years later she was auditioning for talent agencies. That's how Milian started acting, first in commercials for Wendy's, among others.

Milian first appeared musically in 2000 in the song Between Me & You by Ja Rule. She then traveled to Sweden to record her self-titled debut album Christina Milian. The first single release AM to PM climbed into the top 10 in many European charts.

In summer 2004 she released her second album It's About Time on her new record label Island Records. It reached the top 15 in the US and number 21 in the UK album chart. Overall, the album sold 450,000 copies in both countries and was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 2005 Grammy Awards.

On April 19, 2006, Milian released her third album, So Amazin', which peaked at number 11 on the US Albums Chart. It sold over 50,000 copies in the first week.

Milian made her acting debut in the 1996 US sitcom Sister, Sister. In 1999 she appeared in other series, including CluelessandCharmed. Her first film role was in the film American Pie and her first starring role was in Love Don't Cost a Thing. She then acted in films such as Man of the House, Be Cool, Pulse and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. She has also had guest appearances on Smallville, CSI: Vegasand A Gifted Man. In 2008, she starred in the video game Need for Speed: Undercover as Carmen Mendez.

In 2001, Milian wrote the song Play for Jennifer Lopez, in which she can also be heard as a backing singer. She wrote the track Baby for Justin Bieber, which appeared on his 2010 album My World 2.0 and reached number 1 in the French charts.

Christina Milian owns the company "Viva Diva Wines" together with her mother.

While filming the movie Love Don't Cost a Thing starring Nick Cannon, he and Milian started dating. After dating for two and a half years, Milian ended the relationship in 2005 after Cannon cheated on her.

In early 2009, she began dating The-Dream. They got engaged in June of the same year and married three months later in Las Vegas. Their daughter Violet Madison Nash was born on February 26, 2010. In July of the same year, the couple announced their divorce.
