Chitrangada Singh was born on March 30, 1976. She is an Indian film actress who works primarily in Bollywood. She acts in movies like Yeh Saali Zindagi, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Desi Boyz, Inkaar, I, Me AurMain and Baazaar.

Chitrangada Singh was born into a family of Hindu Jats in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. His mother takes care of the house and his father, Niranjan Singh is an officer in the Indian army. Chitrangada grew up in Kota, Rajasthan, as well as Bareilly and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. His brother Digvijay Singh Chahal is a golfer.

His appearance in the video for Gulzar's song "Sunset Point" garnered media attention. She then appears in another music video, this time from singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

Her debut as an actress is in the film Hazaaron Huishayn Aisi, directed by Sudhir Misra in 2003. Her performance in the film is highly praised. According to The Washington Post, the actress stands out for giving the film "a deep sense of decency and dignity".

She takes a break from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, she returned to the stage with the lead role in the romantic comedy Sorry Bhai! alongside Sanjay Suri. The release of the film, which coincided with the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in 2008, was not very successful at the box office.

In 2011, Chitrangada appeared in the film Desi Boyz, directed by debutante Rohit Dhawan, son of director David Dhawan, where she played the role of an economics professor alongside actors Akshay Kumara, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. In the same year, in Sudhir Mishra's film Yeh Saali Zindagi, Singh played the role of an aspiring singer from Delhi who travels to Mumbai for fame and money. The other main characters are played by Irfan Khan, Arunoday Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari. The film was critically acclaimed and moderately successful at the box office.

In 2012, she joined the filming of Joker, directed by Shirish Kunder, where she made a special appearance during the song Kafirana. His next film was I, Me Aur Main (2013) by novice director Kapil Sharma, starring John Abraham and Prachi Desai in the lead roles. She was reunited with her mentor Sudhir Mishra again for a short film Kirchiyaan and for the film Inkaar in 2013. In 2015, she again performed a song with Akshay Kumar for the second time in his film, Gabbar is Back.

Chitrangada Singh was married to golfer Jyoti Randhawa. They separated in 2013, then officially divorced in April 2014. The couple have a son, Zorawar; his custody is granted to Chitrangada.
