Mischa Anne Marsden Barton was born on January 24, 1986 in Hammersmith, London. She is a British-American actress and model.
Mischa had attended St Paul's Girls' School in Hammersmith before the family moved to New York City. Barton graduated from the Professional Children's School in Manhattan in 2004. She then attended a summer course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In 2006, Barton became a US citizen.
At the age of nine, Mischa Barton began her acting career at various theaters in New York, where she starred in Tony Kushner's Slavs! received. More tracks like Where the Truth Lies, Twelve Dreams and One Flea Spare followed. She also took part in the Shakespeare Festival in New York City.
Barton made her television debut in 1996 on the series All my Children. She became known worldwide in 2003 with the role of Marissa Cooper in the US television series The O.C.
Barton was presented with the Viper Award by Karl Lagerfeld on February 8, 2008 in Berlin. After The CW's The Beautiful Life got off to a poor start and was canceled after just two episodes, Barton said she wanted to quit television and focus on her film career.
As early as 1999, Barton received supporting roles in the Hollywood productions The Sixth Sense and Notting Hill. Her first starring role came in 2000's Skipped Parts, followed by Lost and Delirious the following year and 2007's Closing the Ring. Mischa Barton's acting performance in these productions was judged mostly very positively.
