Biography of Alona Tal

Alona Tal was born on October 20, 1983 in Herzliya. She is an Israeli actress.

The origins of her acting career go back to a musical videotape for children, in which she portrayed a wicked witch. She then appeared in a laundry detergent commercial and got the lead role in Lihiyot Kohav (To Be A Star).

While filming this film, she received offers for roles in two different Israeli television shows, both of which she accepted. The first offer was a soap opera about the life of a hotelier family (Tzimerim); the second offer was a sitcom about an ambitious band determined to break through and succeed (HaPijamot). This sitcom held its ground for three seasons and gave Alona a chance to showcase her musical talent. As a result, Tal recorded various songs with the Israeli rapper Subliminal.

Looking for a respite from her busy schedule, Tal headed to New York to live with her sister. Tal auditioned for the role of Veronica Mars. This position ultimately went to Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas, the creator of the series of the same name, wrote for Alona the role of Meg Manning, which Tal played in ten episodes.

In addition, she had several guest appearances in well-known television series. Tal appeared as Rebecca King in nine episodes of the CBS series Cane, which was canceled after just one season. From 2006 to 2009 she played another guest role in the mystery series Supernatural, the character Joanna Beth "Jo" Harvelle, in 2011 she appeared again in the series.

On June 5, 2007, she married actor Marcos Ferraez. The couple's first child, a girl, was born in March 2017.
