Laura Marie Marano was born on November 29, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. She is an American actress and singer. She is the younger sister of Vanessa Marano, who is also an actress. Laura Marano is also sporadically active as a voice actress. From 2011 to 2016, she starred in the Disney sitcom Austin & Ally.
Born in 1995 in Los Angeles, California, Marano began her acting career at the age of five when her sister Vanessa, who was three years older, was also beginning her acting career. Initially, together with her sister, she acted in various plays at the Agoura Children's Theater in Agoura Hills, which is directed, among other things, by her mother Ellen Marano, who was once an actress herself.
Through engagements there, she finally found her way into television, where she was used in various commercials at the beginning of her career before she was offered her first film or television role. She eventually had a recurring role on the television series Without a Trace. She also got an engagement in the award-winning feature film Finding Nemo, where she contributed numerous additional voices.
In the years that followed, the young Californian mainly appeared in television series, although she was sporadically booked for film productions. Among other things, she appeared in an episode of Joan of Arcadian in 2004 and in an episode of Medical Investigation the following year and was also cast in 2005 of The Jacket, where she made her film debut and played the young Jackie Price ( played by Keira Knightley). In addition, she also took on a voice role in the short-lived animated series The X's.
In 2006, some more series appearances followed in Ghost Whisperer, Huff,Dexter and an engagement in Ice Age 2, where she was again responsible for additional voices. She took part as herself on the US game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
She was also cast in the television series Back to You and The Sarah Silverman Program in 2007. While she was canceled on Back to You after only five series appearances and replaced by Lily Jackson, who reprized her role as Gracie Carr for four more episodes, she continued to play her role as the younger version of Sarah Silverman in 2010, where she until appeared in a total of six episodes at that time.
Although she was unlucky in Back to You and was replaced by another actress, the same happened to her in Gary Unmarried the following year. There she was initially supposed to play the role of Louise Brooks, but was kicked out of the team after the pilot was filmed and replaced by the younger Kathryn Newton, who took over her role from then on.
In the years that followed, with the exception of eleven episodes of Ni hao, Kai-lan in 2008, she was unable to really build on her earlier successes and only sporadically made guest appearances in internationally known television series.
In 2009 and 2010 she was able to appear in the series Heroes, Little Monk, True Jackson andFlashForward.After she had already appeared with the responsible persons of Nickelodeon and was able to convince there with her roles and commitments, she was brought into the cast of the Disney series Austin & Ally, which premiered in December 2011, where she occupies the leading role of Ally .
She starred in the music video for The Vamps and Demi Lovato's "Somebody To You" in 2014. She also graduated from a public high school in 2014.
