Biography of Michelle Branch

Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch was born on July 2, 1983 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist.

Michelle got her name after the Beatles song of the same name. Her ancestors come from Ireland, France, the Netherlands and Dutch East Indies/Indonesia. She has an older brother, David, and a younger sister, Nicole. In addition to her mother tongue English, she also speaks good French. Branch attended Red Rock High School, but dropped out to pursue a full-time songwriting career.

Her first big hit was Everywhere (2001), followed by the song All You Wanted, both of which were released on her debut album The Spirit Room. In 2003 she released her second album Hotel Paper, which reached the top 20 on the Billboard singles chart.

She plays multiple instruments including cello, guitar, accordion, mandolin, harmonica, drums and piano.

She forms the country-pop duo The Wreckers with her former backing singer and friend Jessica Harp. Their first song together appeared in the American soap One Tree Hill, which they performed there on February 8, 2005. The duo then joined the One Tree Hill Tour, along with Gavin DeGraw, Tyler Hilton, and Bethany Joy Lenz, and toured the United States for weeks without releasing an album beforehand.

In the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer she sang her song Goodbye to You in the 8th episode of the 6th season at the end, also in the 12th episode of the 5th season of Charmed.

The new album Everything Comes and Goes was released on July 19, 2010 as a six-song extended play in the United States.

The first two singles Hopeless Romantic and Best You Ever were released in early 2017, followed by the album Hopeless Romantic in April. In July and August of the same year she toured the USA with the new repertoire. Since working on Hopeless Romantic, Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney have also been a private couple.

Since May 24, 2004 she has beenmarriedto bassistTeddy Landau, brother of well-known guitaristMichael Landau. With this she has a daughter (* 2005).
