Maggie Grace, actually Margaret Grace Denig, was born on September 21, 1983 in Worthington, Ohio. She is an American actress.
Maggie Grace was born the eldest of three children. She was raised in her birthplace, Worthington, Ohio, where she attended and graduated from the local high school. In high school she acted in school plays. At the age of 16 she moved to Los Angeles with her mother to become an actress.
In 2001 she had her first role in the web series Rachel's Room. Her next role was in the series Septuplets (2002), which was not broadcast on television. She gained notoriety in the 2002 television film Murder in Greenwich, based on the true story of fifteen-year-old Martha Moxley. In the following years, Grace mostly played guest roles in television series. She appeared in CSI: Miami (2003), Cold Case (2004) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2004), among others, in one episode before she had a recurring role in 2004's Oliver Beene took over.
Grace got her breakthrough role as Shannon Rutherford on the series Lost, which she played as the main character from 2004-2005. In 2007 she returned to the series and was in the last episode in 2010. Grace was nominated for a 2005 Teen Choice Award in the Choice TV Breakout Performance – Female category for her performance.
In 2005, she starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog, a remake of the 1980 film of the same name. In 2007, she had a supporting role in the film Subarban Girl opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and appeared in the novel adaptation of The Jane Austen Club. 2008 followed a role in the thriller Taken alongside Liam Neeson, in whose sequels she appeared again in 2012 and 2014. She starred in Knight and Day (2010) alongside Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. In 2011, Grace played the role of the vampire Irina in Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2.
In the sixth season of the Showtime series Californication she had the supporting role of groupie Faith held.
In 2013, she made her Broadway debut at the American Airlines Theater in William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Picnic opposite Sebastian Stan.
In February 2015, it was announced that she was engaged to boyfriend Matthew Cooke. A year later the couple separated. In February 2017, Grace became engaged to entertainment executive director Brent Bushnell. The couple married on May 28, 2017.
