Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986 in Copenhagen. She is an Indian Bollywood actress and model.
Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen to Ujjala Padukone and former badminton player Prakash Padukone. When Padukone was eleven months old, the family moved to Bangalore.
Deepika Padukone began modeling and landed her first major international commission doing adverts for cosmetics brand Maybelline. Her first leading role was in the 2006 film Aishwarya. In 2007 she played the female lead in her first Hindi film Om Shanti Om. She received several awards for her role as Shanti-Priya in this film.
In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars annually.
She has been married to Indian actor and film partner (Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat) Ranveer Singh since November 14, 2018.
In 2022, Padukone was appointed to the Competition Jury at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
In order to do something about the high rate of depression in India, Padukone founded the Live Love Laugh Foundation.
