Biography of Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts was born on September 28, 1968 in Shoreham, Kent, England, where she lived until she was eight years old.
She is the daughter of Myfanwy Edwards Roberts, an antiques dealer and designer, and Peter Watts, tour director and sound engineer for the group Pink Floyd. They separate when she was four years old, and at seven her father dies.
She studied at Mosman High School and other institutes, such as North Sydney Girls High School where she was a classmate ofNicole Kidman.
She performs a supporting role in the 1991 film Flirting along with Nicole Kidman and Thandie Newton. She also had a supporting role in Tank Girl in 1995. In 1998 she appears in the film Dangerous Beauty, and she works alongside Jacqueline Bisset.
She continued to work on low-budget series like Sleepwalkers, Children of the Corn IV. She stars in Mulholland Drive, which premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. She continues with Down, directed by Dick Maas. Along with the director and screenwriter Scott Coffey she works on the film Ellie Parker (2001).
In 2002, he stars in The Ring, an American remake of a Japanese film, and works in the film Ned Kelly, she appears in Le Divorce, along with Kate Hudson, and in 2003, he stars in the magnificent 21 Grams, by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, along with the actors Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn.
In 2004 she made I Hearth Huckabees, where she works with Isla Fisher and Jude Law. Shortly after, she produces and stars in We Don't Live Here Anymore and later in The Assassination of Richard Nixon opposite Don Cheadle and again with Sean Penn.
In 2005, King Kongdirected by Peter Jackson, is her most commercial film. In 2006 she stars in The Painted Veil, a film directed by John Curran and with Edward Norton and Liev Schreiber.
In 2007 she premiered Eastern Promises, directed by David Cronenberg and in which she stars alongside Viggo Mortensen and Vincent Cassel. A year later, in 2008, the remake of the very hard Funny Games was released, directed by the Austrian Michael Haneke, the same director as her in the original.
In April 2009, The International, a thriller starring opposite Clive Owen, was released. In September of the same year, she presented Mother and Child, directed by Rodrigo García.
In January 2010, he works on Dream House, a suspense film that was released in September 2011. In 2012, he stars in The Impossible, a drama based on a true story that happened during the 2004 tsunami. In 2013, he participated in the Australian film Adore , and as Diana, Princess of Wales directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel in the film Diana.
In 2014, she was directed by Mexican Alejandro González Iñárritu in Birdman, a film that opened the 71st Venice International Film Festival receiving good reviews.
In 2015, she played rebel Evelyn Johnson-Eaton in Insurgent, the second film in The Divergent Series, based on the novel of the same title, then appeared in Demolition and Three Generations, which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015.
In 2016, it was announced that Watts would be working on Twin Peaks, continuing the 1990 series of the same name. It aired in 2017. In the same year, Watts starred in the Netflix series Gypsy and worked on the film The Glass Castle.
In 2018 she releases Opheliaand in 2019, Luce, The Wolf Hour and Boss Level.
She has been linked to director Stephen Hopkins and, from August 2002 to May 2004, to actor Heath Ledger.
Since the spring of 2005 she has been in a relationship with actor Liev Schreiber. The couple's first child, Alexander "Sasha" Peter, was born on July 25, 2007, in Los Angeles, California. Their second son, Samuel "Sammy" Kay, on December 13, 2008 in New York. In September 2016, they decided to put an end to a relationship that lasted for more than eleven years.
Since 2017, she has been in a relationship with American actor Billy Crudup, whom she met on the set of the Netflix series Gypsy.
