Milena "Mila" Markovna Kunis was born on August 14, 1983 in Chernivtsi, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union; today Ukraine. She is an American actress and voice actress.
Mila Kunis was born as the daughter of the mechanical engineer Mark and the physics teacher Elvira Kunis. She has an older brother who works as a biochemist. In 1991, at the age of seven, she emigrated with her family to Los Angeles, California, where she grew up.
In 1994, she played the role of Hope Williams, which she portrayed as a child, in an episode of Days of Our Lives. In 2005 she was photographed for the cover of the men's magazine Stuff.
This was followed by roles such as starring in Aerosmith's music video Jaded, in films such as Gia, where she played Angelina Jolie's teenage character Gia, and in The Book of Eli opposite Denzel Washington. Kunis is also the voice of Meg Griffin on the animated series Family Guy. She received the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival for her role in Black Swan. She also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2011, she starred opposite Justin Timberlake as Jamie in the feature film Friends With Benefits.
Other film roles followed, including comedies such as Bad Moms (2016) and the 2015 sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending. Her work includes more than 60 productions. She has also acted in various dramas, such as Four Good Days (2020).
Mila Kunis dated former child star Macaulay Culkin from 2002 to January 2011. She has been dating Ashton Kutcher, her fellow actor from That '70s Show, since mid-2012. They married in July 2015 and have a daughter (born 2014) and a son (2016).
Mila Kunis is of Jewish faith, but she described herself on a US talk show as a "bad Jew" because she doesn't stick too much to customs. She has different colored eyes (iris heterochromia), one is green, the other brown. According to her own statements, she was blind in one eye for several years. It was only after an operation that the ability to see could be restored in this eye. She has suffered from ADHD since childhood.
After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she and her husband started a fundraising campaign on gofundme with the goal of raising $30 million for Ukrainian refugees. The couple donated $3 million themselves.
