Biography of Lauren Graham

Lauren Helen Graham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on March 16, 1967. She is an American actress.

When she was 5 years old, her parents divorced her. Her mother, Donna Grant, moved to London to join a rock band, while Lauren and her father, Lawrence, moved to Washington D.C. where she became a congressional employee while caring for Lauren's daughter.

In 1995, she moved to Hollywood, quickly landing a role as Shelly (Richard's girlfriend Malcolm Gets) in the first season of Caroline in the City, recurring roles when Graham played an efficiency expert who had to do staff cuts at NewsRadio, and a Los Angeles studio executive who goes after Benjamin Bratt when his marriage went bad on Law & Order. She also had regular appearances on the sitcoms "ConradBloom" and "Townies." She also appears in the credits on Seinfeld and Third Rock From the Sun.

In film, Graham starred in an independent film called Dill Scallion. The film is a documentary about the world of country music. She can also be seen in Sweet November, where she had a small part as Keanu Reeves' girlfriend. Her first film was for Miramax, a thriller called Nightwatch, opposite Patricia Arquette and Ewan McGregor. She was also Renee Zellweger's best friend in the Meryl Streep movie One TrueThing.

After many guest roles she finally gets her chance to star in one of the most watched series on television, her role as Lorelai Gilmore for the Warner Bros comedy-drama Gilmore Girls. This role has brought her nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and for the viewers for the "Quality Television Award" for Best Actress for her portrayal of the character Lorelai Gilmore.

Since 2010, she has been a partner of actor Peter Krause. From the beginning and to this day, both decided to keep their lives in a very low profile. The two live in Los Angeles, California.
