Biography of Christina Applegate

Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. She is an American actress. She is an Emmy Award winner.

Christina Applegate is the daughter of singer and actress Nancy Priddy and record producer and executive Robert Applegate. At the age of three months, she appeared with her mother in a commercial on US television. She is best known for her roles as Kelly Bundy on the television series Married with... Children (1987-1997) and as Jesse Warner on the television series Jesse (1998-2000).

In 1995 she founded the dance and music ensemble Pussycat Dolls with Robin Antin, but was not involved in its later successes. In 2005, she starred in the Broadway musical Sweet Charity, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. From 2007 to 2009 she starred in the comedy series Samantha Who? of the US television network ABC. The part of a real estate entrepreneur with amnesia earned her two Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations each.

In 2011 and 2012, Applegate was a main cast member of the television series Up All Night, in which she played a young mother struggling to balance work and family.

Since 2019 she has played the lead role Jen Harding in the Netflix series Dead to Me.

Applegate is a vegetarian and is involved with the animal rights organization PETA. In 2008 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was still at a very early stage. In view of a genetically predisposed increased risk of breast cancer, Applegate decided on a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy. In August 2008, she announced that she was completely cured of cancer. In 2009, she was voted #1 on People Magazine's list of the 100 Most Beautiful People.

Applegate was married to Johnathon Schaech from October 2001 to August 2007. On February 23, 2013, she married musician Martyn LeNoble in Los Angeles. Their daughter was born in January 2011.

In August 2021, a few months after the diagnosis, Christina Applegate made her multiple sclerosis (MS) condition public.
