Biography of Emma Stone
Emma Stone was born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is the daughter of Krista Jean Yeager, a housewife, and Jeffrey Charles Stone, founder and CEO of a company. She had a brother, Spencer, two years younger. The family has resided on the 16th hole of the Camelback Golf Club, and on the grounds of the Camelback Inn Resort since she was twelve years old.
She attended Sequoya Elementary School and later Cocopah Middle School. She also homeschooled for two years while she appeared in Phoenix Valley Youth Theater productions with the theater's improv comedy troupe.
Her parents hired a local acting coach who had worked at the William Morris agency in the 1970s and still had Hollywood connections to tutor her. She also attended Xavier College Preparatory and, at sixteen, she moved with her mother to an apartment in Los Angeles to continue studying. She is said to have convinced them with a Power Point. Since there was already an "Emily Stone" when she signed up for the Screen Actors Guild, she chose "Emma" as her stage name, even though her family and friends called her Emily.
She made her television debut in 2004 on The New Partridge Family and on the big screen in 2007 as Jules in the movie Superbad. After several seasons of pilots, she managed to succeed with her first leading role in Easy A (2010), playing Olive Penderghast. The film grossed over $74 million and received rave reviews and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress - Musical or Comedy.
He worked on movies like Zombieland (2009), Friends with Benefits (2011), The Help (2011), Gangster Squad (2013), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2(2014) and Birdman (2014), a film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and for which she was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category and another Golden Globe.
As Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, she established herself as one of Hollywood's sex icons and the film grossed over $750 million, making it the highest grossing of her career to date.
She co-starred with Bradley Cooper in Aloha, a romantic comedy directed by Cameron Crowe for Columbia Pictures that was released on May 29, 2015. She would later work with Woody Allen again as a co-star in the mystery drama Irrational Man opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
She signed with the Roundabout Theater Company to make her Broadway debut in the revival of the musical Cabaret.
She along with Ryan Gosling she participated in the musical comedy La La Land. The film began shooting in Los Angeles on August 10, 2015, and thanks to her role as Mia in the film, she won the Oscar for best actress in the 89th edition held on February 26, 2017.
In 2017, she shot the sports drama Battle of the Sexes, based on the 1973 match between tennis players Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. A year later she starred opposite Rachel Weisz in the historical drama The Favourite, for which she received her fifth Golden Globe nomination and third Oscar nomination.
In 2018, she also starred in and executive produced the Netflix comedy miniseries Maniac. During 2019 she reprized the role of Wichita in Zombieland: Double Tap.
She appeared on the covers of magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Glamor and Maxim among many others. In 2011, Men's Health magazine ranked her as the second sexiest woman in the world, and she was ranked number 7 in the Maxim Hot 100 (the 100 most attractive women in the world) of the year 2012.
During the filming of The Amazing Spider-Man saga in 2011, she met her would-be co-star Andrew Garfield whom she started dating. They put an end to their sentimental relationship of more than four years in August 2015.
Six months after having to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic, Emma Stone and Dave McCary married in 2020. The actress and the writer of the comedy show Saturday Night Live married in New York.
In March 2021, they welcomed Louise Jean McCary.
