Biography of Jessica Biel

Jessica Claire Biel was born on March 3, 1982 in Ely, Minnesota. She is an American actress, producer and model.

Biel, of Jewish-Hungarian, French, and Irish ancestry, grew up in Boulder, Colorado. She trained in gymnastics for six years and was a right midfielder on a soccer team. She received a musical education and appeared in several musicals. In 1994 she began working as a model in Los Angeles. Biel became known as an actress at the age of 14 for a role in the series 7th Heaven and alongside Peter Fonda in the film Ulee's Gold.

In 2000, at the age of 17, Biel posed scantily clad for Gear Magazine. She got into trouble with the conservative producers of 7th Heaven because of these photos, which appeared in Maxim magazine in Germany, which is why her role as Mary Camden was written out of the series for a while. However, she later returned as the series' ratings suffered due to Biel's absence. In 2001, she starred in Aerosmith's Fly Away From Here music video.

In 2003, Biel began repositioning herself as an action heroine in films such as Michael Bay's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade: Trinity and Stealth. In 2005, she was named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine. She had her next success in 2007 in Next alongside Nicolas Cage.

In 2008 she starred alongside Ben Barnes and Colin Firth in the British film Easy Virtue. In 2010, she starred in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day and in the serial adaptation The A-Team. She was nominated for a Negative Golden Raspberry Award for her role in Total Recall. In 2012, she played Vera Miles in the biopic Hitchcock. Other film and television roles followed. In 2017, she had a starring role in the first season of the television series The Sinner.

Biel has been in a relationship with musician and actor Justin Timberlake since 2007. The couple married on October 19, 2012. She has taken her husband's surname but continues to work under the name Biel. As of April 2015, Biel and Timberlake are parents to a son. In 2020, the couple had another son.
