Biography of Paris Hilton

Paris Whitney Hilton was born February 17, 1981 in New York City. She is an American model, singer and actress. She is the great-granddaughter of hotel founder Conrad Hilton.

With her dazzling lifestyle and her provocative appearances, Hilton consciously attracts media interest and uses this fact for successful self-marketing. In 2005 she was awarded the title "It Girl of the Year" by the music channel VH1.

Paris Hilton is the eldest daughter of Richard Hilton and Kathy Hilton. She has a younger sister named Nicky Hilton and two younger brothers, Barron and Conrad Hilton.

Hilton attended Canterbury School in Connecticut, the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California, a year at the boarding school Provo Canyon School in Utah, and the Dwight School in New York City, where she was a cheerleader. She left school at the age of 17. More than 20 years later, she recounted the physical and psychological abuse she and other classmates endured at Provo Canyon School. This left her with 20 years of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

After leaving school at the age of 17, she began working as a model. In addition to modeling, Hilton has appeared in a few lesser-known films as a supporting actress.

In 2000 she had her first success when she was photographed for the magazines GQ and FHM. In 2003, Hilton starred in the series The Simple Life, produced by US television network Fox, in which she experienced rural life on a farm in Altus, Arkansas, alongside her friend Nicole Richie. The initially poor ratings improved after a private sex tape of her became public.

Her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon had released the film as a VHS video and DVD under the title 1 Night in Paris. In 2005, the film won three AVN Awards, including as the best-selling and best-rented sex tape. Hilton sued Salomon and was subsequently awarded $400,000 in damages and a share of the proceeds from the sale. After the fifth season (Goes to Camp), The Simple Life was canceled.

Hilton published a book in 2004 called Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose. It spent weeks in the top ten of the New York Times bestseller list. In 2005, after a few minor supporting roles, she received her first major film role in the horror film House of Wax.

From May to October 2005, Hilton was engaged to Greek multi-billionaire son Paris Latsis. To raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims, Hilton auctioned herself, raising $200,000 for the fundraiser, which a male fan paid for a New Year's Eve with her.

On February 15, 2007, Hilton was Richard Lugner's star guest at the annual Vienna Opera Ball.

From May 2008, her reality show My new BFF (= "best friend forever") was filmed in Los Angeles. Hilton used this show to find a new best friend. Because of the great interest and high viewership in the US, Hilton then shot a British and a Dubai version of her show.

In October 2009, she starred in the US mystery series Supernatural. In it, she plays a pagan deity who takes the form of the hotel heiress.

On August 27, 2010, cocaine was found on Hilton's premises during a Las Vegas vehicle stop, leading to her arrest for drug possession. She was released without bail the next morning and on September 20 was sentenced to a year's probation, 200 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.

From February 2017 she was in a relationship with the American actor Chris Zylka and engaged to him from January to November 2018.

As of January 2020, she was engaged to American entrepreneur Carter Milliken Reum, whom she eventually married in November 2021.

As a businesswoman, Hilton works in a wide variety of areas. A fashion label in Japan, which she founded together with sister Nicky to sell exclusive bags, laid the foundation stone. The business expanded into accessories, clothing, jewelry and perfumes.
