Biography of Lucy Hale

Karen Lucille "Lucy" Hale was born on June 14, 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee. She is an American actress and singer.

Hale grew up with an older sister and a stepbrother. She took singing lessons as a child, and from 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the music group American Juniors, which released a few albums. She made her acting debut in a 2005 episode of the television series Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. After a few more guest appearances on television series, she landed a major role in the 2007 sci-fi action series Bionic Woman. In the comedyThe Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2(2008) she appeared alongside Alexis Bledel (whose younger sister she played), America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Amber Tamblyn.

From 2008 to 2009, Hale starred in the series Privileged, which was canceled after the first season. She also had a few cameos in Wizards of Waverly Place, playing Justin Russo's (David Henrie) girlfriend. From 2010 to 2017, Hale played the role of Aria Montgomery on the series Pretty Little Liars.

In 2012, Hale revealed that he had previously suffered from an eating disorder.

Hale's music was influenced by Shania Twain, Faith Hill and most notably Britney Spears' Baby One More Time, among others. She sang the theme song to the film Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song and recorded three other songs for the soundtrack.

In 2012, Hale signed a record deal with Hollywood Records. In 2014 she released her debut single You Sound Good to Me and her debut album Road Between, which reached #4 on the US Country chart and #14 on the US Billboard chart.
