Biography of Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra was born on 22 October 1988 in Ambala, Haryana. She is an Indian actress who stars in Bollywood films. She is a cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra.

Her father, Pawan Chopra, is an entrepreneur and her mother is Reena Chopra. She has two brothers: Shivang and Saraj. Parineeti Chopra moved to London at the age of 17 to pursue a career in investment banking, but after earning an honors triple degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School, she decided to return to India in 2009. She has joined Yash Raj Films as a PR consultant. In the beginning, Chopra didn't want to be an actress. Working closely with actors changed her mind and later she was signed by the production company as an actress.

Chopra made her debut in 2011 with a supporting role in the romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl opposite Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, which became a moderate box office hit. However, her performance in the film as a spoiled rich girl was hailed by critics. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The next year, she took on the female lead in Ishaqzaade, a romantic drama that has proved a critical and commercial success. Chopra was acclaimed for her performances in Shuddh Desi Romance and in Karan Johar's Hasee Toh Phasee. The film Kill Dil, in which she starred again with Ranveer Singh, failed to please viewers and critics alike, the film flopped and Parineeti Chopra decided to take a break for the first time before signing for another film.
