Biography of Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1970, in the Bronx, New York City, and grew up on Blackrock Avenue.
She is of Puerto Rican origin, the daughter of David López, a computer operator, and Guadalupe López, a school teacher from the Bronx. She has a younger sister, Lynda, and an older sister, Leslie.
At sixteen she appeared in a small role in The Little Girl. She moved to Manhattan to take dance classes and had to sleep on occasion in the studio where she practiced.
She was hired as a dancer for Janet Jackson and New Kids on the Block performing on many of their tours around the world.
During 1991, she won a dance contest and was cast as The Flying Girl for the Fox Network series In Living Color. Two years later she acted in her first television film Nurses on the Line: The Crash of Flight 7.
In 1993-1994, she played Melinda López in the short film Second Chances for CBS. That same year she appeared in the series South Central.
She made her first appearance as a supporting actress in 1995 in the role of young Maria, in the film My Family, as well as appearing as the lead in the film Asalto al Tren del Dinero.
In 1998 she provided her voice for the animated film Antz. In Selena, she played the late artist, a performance for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress-Movie Musical or Comedy in 1998.
During the year 1999, she appeared on her album with the single If You had My Love. The song Waiting For Tonight was nominated for Best Dance Music Recording.
Jennifer titled her first studio album On the 6 (1999), because as a student she used to ride the NY 6 train when she went to her dance class.
Her participation in U Turn (1997), by Oliver Stone, and Out of Sight (1998), alongside George Clooney, led her to become the highest paid Latin actress in Hollywood.
In 2000, she appeared in the box office thriller The Cell and The Wedding Planner. That same year she released her album J.Lo, which was at the top of the Billboard list.
She launched her clothing line called JLO by Jennifer Lopez in 2001. In that year she turned down the role of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.
In 2005, she earned $15 million for her role in Monster-in-Law, making her the highest-paid Latina actress in Hollywood at the time.
She released the third single from her Spanish-language album, Como Ama una Mujer, in January 2008.
She attended the Saturday Night Live show in February 2010 to present the promotion of the film The Back-Up Plan, and also sang live two new songs that appear on her Love album.
In January 2015, she premiered The Boy Next Door, an erotic thriller that she co-produced and starred in. She also starred in the independent film Lila & Eve.
She repeated the voice of Shira in the animated film Ice Age: Collision Course, released in July 2016.
On December 21, 2018, she premiered her movie Second Act.
On February 2, 2020, she and Shakira headlined the Super Bowl intermission show.
She released several singles between 2019 and 2021, including Medicine, Pa' Ti + Lonely, and Cambia el Paso.
She starred with Owen Wilson in the romantic comedy Marry Me (2022) and the action comedy Shotgun Wedding (2022).
Jennifer Lopez ended her wedding engagement to American actor Ben Affleck in January 2004. She was previously married to waiter Ojani Noa in 1997; she later with the dancer Cris Judd in 2001 and finally in May 2004, with the singer Marc Anthony in California.
On February 22, 2008, she gave birth to twins, who were López's first children, while her new husband already had three children from previous relationships. The girl was named Emme Marbiel Muñiz and the boy Maximilian 'Max' David Muñiz. J.Lo. granted the exclusive of the birth to People Magazine for six million dollars.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their separation in July 2011.
She was in a relationship with dancer Casper Smart from October 2011 to August 2016.
In February 2017, she began dating former New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez. In March 2019, they announced their engagement. In April 2021, they announced the end of the engagement.
Although neither Jennifer López nor Ben Affleck officially confirmed their relationship, continuous information relates them again. In the month of July 2021, images appeared kissing and together. Finally López publicly confirmed their relationship.
