Jeri Lynn Ryan was born on February 22, 1968 in Munich. Se is an American actress.

Jeri Ryan was born in Munich as Jeri Lynn Zimmermann, daughter of Sharon Zimmermann and U.S. Army Master Sergeant Gerhard "Jery" Florian Zimmermann. She has an older brother named Mark.

When Ryan was eleven years old, the family decided to settle in Paducah, Kentucky. There she later attended Lone Oak High School and eventually studied at Northwestern University in Chicago. In Chicago, she took part in beauty pageants and became "Miss Northwestern Alpha Delta Phi". In 1989 she was Miss Illinois and later fourth in the Miss America pageant.

With a bachelor's degree in theater studies, she went to Los Angeles, where she appeared in various television series in guest roles. In 1991 she married politician Jack Ryan, with whom she has a son (Alex). After the marriage, Jeri Ryan dated Brannon Braga, who co-produced Star Trek: Voyager with Rick Berman.

After the end of Voyager in 2001, Ryan took on various roles in US series. From 2001 to 2004 she was seen as Ronnie Cooke in the series Boston Public. From 2006 to 2008 she played one of the main roles in the series Shark. From 2011 to 2013 she was Dr. Kate Murphy featured on Body of Proof. She also had recurring roles on The O.C., California, Two and a Half Men, Leverage, and Bosch, before reprising the role of Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Picard in 2020.

From February 2005 to the end of 2010 she owned the restaurant "Ortolan" in Los Angeles with Christophe Emé. Ryan has been married to Emé since 2007 and gave birth to a daughter on March 2, 2008.
