Biography of Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Lee Carpenter was born on July 23, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is an American actress.

Carpenter began dancing classical ballet at the early age of five. As a teenager, she took part in several smaller beauty pageants. In 1991 she was an NFL cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers.

An advertising agent discovered Carpenter while she was in college waiting tables at a Los Angeles restaurant. She later appeared in more than twenty commercials. She played her first small television role alongside David Hasselhoff in the series Baywatch. She became known in the role of Cordelia Chase in the series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer. After leaving Angel, she appeared in several episodes of the Alicia Silverstone series Kate FoxMiss Match and in three episodes of the series Charmed in 2004. Then she worked in the series Veronica Mars. Carpenter starred in the 2010 film The Expendables, along with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Mickey Rourke, and in its 2012 sequel The Expendables 2.

In 2004, Carpenter posed for the US edition of Playboy.

She was married to Damian Hardy from October 2002 to July 2008. Their son was born in March 2003. Due to her unforeseen pregnancy, Angel season 4's scripts had to be heavily revised.
