Kajal Aggarwal was born on June 19, 1985 in Bombay. She is an Indian actress and model. She established a career in the Tamil and Telugu and Hindi film industries.
Kajal Aggarwal was born and raised in a Hindu Punjabi family settled in Bombay. Her father Vinay Aggarwal, is an entrepreneur in the textile industry and her mother Suman Aggarwal is a confectioner, and also the business manager of Kajal. She has a younger sister, Nisha Aggarwal, a Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam film actress, who is nowmarriedto Karan Valecha (General Manager of Golds Gyms, Asia).
She was educated atSt. Anne's High School, Fort and completed her pre-college education atJai Hind College. She continued her studies in mass media, majoring in marketing and advertising, fromKishinchand Chellaram College./span>
She made her acting debut with the 2004 Bollywood film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... and had her first Telugu film release in 2007, Lakshmi Kalyanam. In the same year, she starred in Chandamama, which brought her recognition. The Telugu historical fiction film, Magadheera, marked a turning point in her career in 2009 and received critical acclaim. It ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.
She then acted in Telugu movies such as Darling (2010), Brindavanam (2010), Mr. Perfect (2011), Businessman (2012), Naayak (2013), Baadshah (2013), Govindudu Andarivadele (2014), Temper (2015) and Khaidi No. 150 (2017).
Kajal has also played the female lead in high profile Tamil projects like Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Maattrraan (2012), Thuppakki (2012), Jilla (2014), Vivegam (2017) and Mersal (2017). She made a return to Bollywood with Singham (2011) then Special 26 (2013) which were successful.
In 2020, a wax figure of Aggarwal was displayed at Madame Tussauds Singapore, making it the premiere of an actress in South Indian cinema.
