Millie Bobby Brown was born on February 19, 2004 in Marbella, Malaga, Spain.
She was the third of four children of Kelly and Robert Brown, both British. Her siblings are Ava, Charlie and Paige.
She was born with a severe hearing problem in one of her ears. After years of treatment, she ended up losing her hearing.
The family moved to Bournemouth, Dorset when she was four years old. Four years later, they moved to Orlando, Florida, where her father, a real estate manager, enrolled her in a weekend school to practice acting, dancing and singing. There she was discovered by a Hollywood talent scout. Her parents almost went bankrupt trying to boost Millie's career, they even had to borrow money.
In 2013, she made her ABC debut working on the series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, a spin-off of Once Upon a Time.
During 2014, she starred in BBC America's Intruders. She would later play Rachel Barnes, the sociopathic girl from the NCIS series.
In 2015, she participated in the series Modern Family playing Lizzie, in Grey's Anatomy, she worked as Ruby. These papers failed to keep her family in the United States, so they moved to England to live with her aunt. There she received an invitation to audition for a very special role that would change her life.
She ended up becoming one of the protagonists of a Netflix series, Stranger Things, acting as Eleven, a girl with telekinetic powers.
For this work, she was recognized internationally and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at age thirteen, winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series along with the other co-stars.
In January 2017, she debuted as a model in Calvin Klein's By Appointment campaign. A month later, she signed with the IMG Models agency.
She made her film debut in 2017, the year she started shooting the movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Also, she will reprise her role in Godzilla vs. Kong released in 2021.
She had a romantic relationship with the American singer Jacob Sartorius, from December 2017 to July 2018.
